DOES CBD REALLY WORK?

There are books that describe how CBD works, especially therapeutic use of CBD in larger dosages.  Amazon.com has several titles to choose from.

HOW MUCH CBD SHOULD I TAKE?

The suggested dose of Biotica Wellness 6 gram CBD is 200mg (one dropper). But you should establish for yourself by trial and error the dosage that works best for you. 

HOW LONG DOES CBD LAST?

The effect of CBD usually lasts three to four hours.  Allow 15-45 minutes for it to begin. 

CAN YOU TAKE TOO MUCH CBD?

According to the World Health Organization, CBD is safe even at very high doses (“CANNABIDIOL (CBD) Critical Review Report Expert Committee on Drug Dependence.” Fortieth Meeting Geneva, 4-7 June 2018. World Health Organization). 

WHY USE A CBD TINCTURE RATHER THAN A CBD SHOT OR CBD GUMMY?

Just swallowing CBD exposes it to the “first pass effect”. This means that the CBD is metabolized by the digestive flora and liver. As much as 95% of the CBD can then be converted into inactive compounds. When you use a tincture, you place the CBD oil under the tongue and keep it there for at least 30 seconds. The CBD then enters the blood stream through thin mucous membranes in the mouth.

IS THERE THC IN THIS TINCTURE?

THC is part of a full-spectrum hemp extract. But the amount is minute—by US regulation, it cannot be more than 0.3%.

WHY DO YOU HAVE MCT OIL AND MONK FRUIT IN THE PRODUCT?

A CBD extract has a thick resin-like consistency that needs to be dissolved in an oil so you you can dispense it.  We use MCT oil because it is easy to digest and has health benefits on its own. Monk fruit extract is part of the product to give some sweetness to counteract the bitterness of the CBD.

DOES CBD HAVE ANY NARCOTIC EFFECTS?

CBD is not the same as marijuana. It is extracted from industrial hemp. CBD does not have any narcotic effects, nor is is habit forming. 

WHY NOT JUST USING CBD ISOLATE?

CBD combined with other cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids in hemp have more benefits than just CBD alone. This is called the entourage effect. 

WHAT ARE TERPENES?

Terpenes are aromatic compounds in hemp. Scientific studies have shown that some of these have benefits on their own, especially beta caryophyllene, beta myrcene, limonene, alpha pinene and terpinolene, which are all present in the Biotica 6g tincture.
